Columbia College–Jacksonville will celebrate five years of operation with a reception on June 15 from 5-7 p.m. on its campus, located at 7077 Bonneval Road, Suite 114, just off I-95. Gary Hall, director, Dr. Deborah Jones, lead faculty member of Columbia College–Jacksonville, and Dr. Bonnie Smedley, outgoing lead faculty member, Columbia College–NAS Jacksonville, will provide remarks. All faculty, staff, students and area alumni are invited to attend.
Columbia College–Jacksonville opened on August 14, 2006 and is the second Columbia College campus in Jacksonville, Florida; a campus located on Naval Air Station Jacksonville was established in 1990. The two campuses are located across the St. John River from each other and share students, faculty, and events. The June 15 celebration is in recognition of the younger Jacksonville location, however.

Initially a 33 student campus, Columbia – College Jacksonville has grown throughout the past five years. "My tenure here at Columbia College–Jacksonville has been characterized by growth," said Hall, who has been with the campus since 2006. "We are knocking on the door of 400 enrollments per session. We are also growing nicely in graduate enrollments."
Columbia College–Jacksonville primarily serves adult learners, which is the same for all Columbia College Nationwide campuses. From its humble beginnings providing courses to St. Louis-area Army recruiters in 1973, the Columbia College Adult Higher Education program has expanded to 34 Nationwide Campuses from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to Whidbey Island, Washington. The college is nationally recognized as a leader in adult higher education.
