The softball Cougars have clawed their way into the AMC tournament, scheduled this weekend at the Jefferson City, Mo., Fields of Legend Sports Complex
Columbia College softball closed the regular season with a split against Harris-Stowe (Mo.) State University to end the season with a 26-11 record, good enough for a second place AMC finish. The Cougars are 12-4 against conference opponents.
This record is even more remarkable considering the Cougars lost starting second baseman Samantha Stringer and pitcher Valerie Teeter to injuries and other key players left. But coach Wendy Spratt saw her team overcome these adversities, gel as a team and rally again and again. At one point in April, they strung together a 10-game win streak.

Tournament play starts this weekend at the Jefferson City, Mo., Fields of Legend Sports Complex. Come root root root for your Cougars!
