The many faces of commencement weekend

Graduates on the steps of St. Clair Hall during the Ivy Chain ceremony
Saturday, May 9, was a bright, auspicious day for the nearly 500 students, plus family, staff and faculty, participating in two separate Columbia College commencement ceremonies.

The Ivy Chain ceremony kicked things off at 9:30 a.m. on Bass Commons followed by a noon commencement ceremony honoring Day Campus students from the main campus in Columbia, Mo., and Evening Campus, Online Campus and Nationwide Campus students receiving associate or master's degrees. Students graduating with an associate degree in nursing were pinned at 2 p.m., then a final 3:30 p.m. ceremony honored baccalaureate degree candidates from the college's adult higher education venues (Evening Campus, Online Campus and Nationwide Campuses).

President Gerald Brouder was speaker at both ceremonies.
